Strong Fourth Place for David Braceras in Argentina

David Braceras of the JM Racing Honda team showed his potential during the first round of the MX2 World Championship in Cordoba, Argentina. Braceras finished an impressive fourth place in the first moto.

This year’s Argentine Grand Prix was held at a new location. The Cordoba circuit was beautiful and clear, with thousands of spectators lining the track to witness the first Grand Prix of the season. After needing some time to get used to the track on Saturday, Braceras started off well in the qualification heat. In the early stages, he was running in the top ten until he had a small crash, which pushed him back outside the top twenty. Braceras gave it his all for the remainder of the heat and managed to finish in seventeenth place.

On Sunday morning, it rained in Cordoba, and the track turned into a wet, muddy surface. It was crucial to get a good start, which Braceras did in the first moto. He was up front and rode a consistent race, earning a strong fourth place finish!

In the second moto, he also got a good start but unfortunately crashed, which left him to battle back from last place. Giving it his all, he managed to gain several positions and finished in seventeenth place.

In the overall standings for the day, Braceras finished in twelfth place. The World Championship will continue in two weeks in Cozar, Spain, and hopefully, Brent van Doninck will also be back in action.

JM Racing Honda signs David Braceras

JM Racing Honda has signed David Braceras for the 2025 season. The Spaniard will ride alongside Brent van Doninck in the team. However, Braceras will remain active in the MX2 class while Van Doninck will go out in the MXGP class.

Braceras managed to finish sixteenth in the final standings of the MX2 world championship this year. He had some difficulties during this season, but within the professional structure of the JM Racing Honda team, Braceras is aiming to become a permanent guy inside of the top ten in 2025.

Van Doninck and Braceras will use the coming months to prepare for the new season, which will start on March 2 in Cordoba, Argentina.

Brent van Doninck and JM Racing Honda continue together in 2025

JM Racing Honda and Brent van Doninck will continue their partnership in 2025. Together they have already shown good things in the last two seasons, but due to injuries the end goal has not yet been reached.

Van Doninck and JM Racing Honda hope to end the season in strong fashion at the Spanish Grand Prix and will then start preparing for the new year.

Commented Jacky Martens, owner JM Racing Honda: “I am happy that we have been able to extend the contract with Brent. He has already brought a lot of good things to our team and we hope to be able to add to this next year. Due to his injury at the beginning of this year, he missed a lot of races but he has come back strong and we want to keep this positive trend towards next year. He is regularly in the top ten of the MXGP class and our goal is that he will be a permanent rider in the top ten.”
