Camden McLellan fights his way to a top 15 finish in the Grand Prix of Lommel
Camden McLellan of JM Honda Racing finished inside of the top fifteen at round 13 of the World Championship in Lommel, Belgium. Due to a set back on Saturday he had to start from the outside in both motos and had to come back through the field. In the first moto he came back to a thirteenth place and in the second moto he crossed the finish line in fourteenth position.
In time practice his riding went well but he wasn’t able to put a decent lap together. In the qualifying heat things went well with McLellan. He was fighting for a top seven finish till he got a mechanical problem, which forced him to retire from the race. Due to this he had to start from the outside in both motos on Sunday. In the first moto he took a bad start but he charged all the way back to thirteenth position. In the second moto he got arm pump and was on survival mode for the rest of the moto. Despite this he still finished in fourteenth position.
It was the first time in his life that Delvintor Alfarizi saw such a heavy sand track. In every session it started to go better. Unfortunately he had to retire from the first moto after five laps due to a mechanical problem. In the second moto his riding went well and he managed to finish the race in 27th position.
McLellan ended in fourteenth position overall and Alfarizi finished in 29th place in the overall standings. The team will now travel to Finland four round fourteen of the world championship, which will be held in Vantaa next weekend.
