Brent van Doninck scores five world championship points in Switzerland
Brent van Doninck of JM Racing Honda has scored five world championship points at round three of the world championship series in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Van Doninck managed to finish in sixteenth position in the opening moto. In the second moto he had a collision in the opening lap and had to charge back through the field. He worked himself back up into sixteenth position but due to two more mistakes he finally finished in 21st position. Muhammad Delvintor Alfarizi had bad luck in the MX2 class. Alfarizi has broken his fibula on Saturday and will be out for a few weeks!
The track of Frauenfeld was really technical and sketchy in places. Brent set the fourteenth fastest time in time practice on Saturday and qualified himself in thirteenth spot in the qualifying heat.
In the opening moto he didn’t took a good start and came by start/finish in twentieth position at the end of the first lap. On a track where it was difficult to pass on he worked himself back up to fifteenth position. In the closing stages of the race he lost a spot and crossed the finish line in sixteenth place.
The second moto started with a setback for Brent because during the opening lap he collided with another rider and crashed. From the back of the pack he fought his way back up to sixteenth but due to two more mistakes he finally finished the race in a disappointing 21st position.
Overall he finished in 21st position as well and after three rounds he sits in fifteenth position in the world championship standings. Next weekend the series continues in Arco di Trento, Italy.
