Brent van Doninck of the JM Racing Honda team has come close to a top ten place during the last round of the MXGP World Championship in Cozar, Spain. Van Doninck had a difficult first moto in which he failed to score, but he came back strong in the second moto and then crossed the finish flag in eleventh place.

In the first moto, van Doninck got a good start but was pushed wide in the first corner. To make matters worse, he crashed during the first lap and hurt his hand and thumb. Van Doninck continued on his way but crashed again later in the moto and was then so far behind that scoring points was no longer an option.

In the second moto he got his revenge. He was in a battle with Maxime Renaux for ninth place for a long time. He rode a strong moto but was passed by Jan Pancar in the closing stages and eventually crossed the finish line in eleventh place.

After his zero score in the first moto, Van Doninck still finished in fourteenth place in the day’s classification. Max Werner rode the last race of the EMX250 Championship in Spain. In the first moto it didn’t go well. He struggled with arm pump and couldn’t find his feet on the track. Because he couldn’t hold on to the bike well, there was no more in it than a fourteenth place.

In the second moto it went better. He got a good start and rode the entire race in fourth place. With these results he finished in seventh place in the general classification and in the final standings of the championship he finished eighth.

Brent van Doninck will now prepare for the MX of Nations in Matterley Basin, Great Britain where he will defend the colours of Team Belgium.
