Max Werner scores third place in EMX250 Switzerland

JM Racing Honda’s Max Werner finished third in the penultimate round of the EMX250 Championship in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Werner managed to achieve this position in the second moto after he was classified 33rd in the first moto due to dehydration.

It was really hot on Saturday and this made it tough for the riders. The track was dry and fast. After Werner had managed to set a thirteenth time on the clock in time practice, he did not a good start in the first moto. He had to work his way back to the front from around twentieth place. This went well and before the middle of the race he was already in twelfth place. He kept the pace high until he overheated and had to drop the pace. Werner was no longer able to ride normally and lost a lot of positions. He finally was classified in 33rd position.

After the moto, Werner immediately went to the medical post to be treated. Fortunately, he slowly recovered and was able to ride in the second moto on Sunday morning. Due to the heavy rainfall in the night from Saturday to Sunday, the conditions were completely different. The track had become muddy and very treacherous.

Werner took the lead in the second moto and led the field after the start. In the early stages he dropped back to third place but was riding a very strong race and managed to hold on well. Werner crossed the finish line in third and scored a lot of important points.

Due to his zero score in the first moto, he had to settle for eleventh place in the day’s classification. He is now ninth in the EMX250 Championship standings.

Brent van Doninck had a setback in Switzerland. He crashed at the start of the qualifying heat and suffered a concussion. He also suffers a lot from a bolt in his foot, which was put in during his foot fracture earlier this year. Van Doninck will have surgery on in the short term so that he can resume training soon without any problems.

Van Doninck scores another top ten finish in MXGP of Arnhem

Brent van Doninck of JM Racing Honda has scored another top ten moto finish at the Dutch MXGP in Arnhem. Van Doninck managed to finish eighth in the second moto.

Van Doninck had a good weekend on the tough sand circuit and he showed this already on Saturday. He set a ninth fastest time in time practice and this was also his position in the qualifying heat. Perhaps it could have been a little bit better because in the last five minutes he ran out of tear offs. As a result, he was unable to attack Mattia Guadagnini, who was riding in front of him, and he had to settle for ninth place.

The first moto on Sunday started with a setback as Van Doninck was involved in a crash in the first corner after the start and had to start the race at the back. Giving it his all, he came back to eighteenth place and scored three points.

At the start of the second moto, Van Doninck was boxed in and had to come back to the front from around twentieth place. He did this well and with impressive lap times he managed to come back to eighth place.

With these results, he finished in thirteenth place in the general classification.

To gain experience, Max Werner competed in the MX2 class. Werner set a twentieth fastest time in time practice and managed to get a very good start in the qualifying heat. He had some nice battles and was still in the top fifteen in the middle of the race. Unfortunately, Werner had to deal with a mechanical problem in the closing stages that forced him to abandon the race.

In the first moto on Sunday, Werner rode a good first half of the race and was in seventeenth place for a long time. However, in the closing stages, the tough circuit started to take its toll and Werner left the race with three laps to go.

With the EMX250 race in Switzerland coming up, it was decided not to race in the second moto because this race was to gain experience in the MX2 class.
