Camden McLellan seventh in the Dutch Grand Prix
Camden McLellan of the JM Racing Honda team finished seventh overall in the Dutch Grand Prix at Arnhem. McLellan was showing a great speed during the weekend and finished seventh in both motos. Delvintor Alfarizi had his difficulties in the tough conditions and finished in 25th and 24th position in the motos.
Arnhem was a new venue on the calendar. The weekend started promising on Saturday. McLellan set the eighth fastest time in time practice and this was his best result in time practice this season. In the qualifying heat he was doing a great job as well. Unfortunately he got a small problem with his rear brake. He managed to keep the pace high but with two laps to go he had a nasty get off and finally finished the race in thirteenth position. Alfarizi had a good rhythm in the first half of the race but after that he started to make some mistakes and was struggling to keep the pace high. He finally crossed the finish line in 27th position.
Both riders were going for more in the motos on Sunday. McLellan took a good start in the opening moto and had a nice rhythm. After a few laps he started to lower the pace to safe some energy but due to this he started to make some mistakes. McLellan kept fighting and finished the race in seventh position. Alfarizi crashed twice in the opening moto and finally finished the race in 25th position.
McLellan took a less good start in the second moto but started to make passes immediately. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to pass two riders in front of him and this cost him his rhythm a bit. McLellan made a small crash in the middle of the race but came back strong after that and finally finished the race in seventh place. Things were going better for Alfarizi in the first half of the race but the heavy track circumstances were taking its toll and due to this he had to be satisfied with 24th position.
McLellan finished in seventh position in the overall classification while Alfarizi ended the weekend in 28th position. With still three races to go, McLellan sits in 15th position in the championship and Alfarizi is in 31st place. In two weeks from now the series continues in Turkey.
