JM Racing Honda finishes inside of the points in difficult French MXGP

JM Racing Honda has scored points at round seventeen of the world championship MXGP in St. Jean d’Angely in France. It was a difficult Grand Prix for the team and due to this Henry Jacobi and Ivo Monticelli had to be satisfied with seventeenth and twentieth position overall.

Round seventeen of the world championship was held in St. Jean d’Angely in France, a really technical track with a lot of elevation changes and a slippery surface. Jacobi qualified himself in seventeenth on Saturday while Monticelli crossed the finish line in 24th spot after a crash in the qualifying heat.

The first moto started with a really good start for Monticelli. He started the race inside of the top five and tried to ride the high pace for as long as possible. This cost him a lot of energy and due to this he had to lower the pace in the second part of the race. He finally finished in eighteenth place and scored three points. Jacobi had several battles around fifteenth position and he finally finished in sixteenth place.

In the second moto it was Jacobi who took a good start. After the first official lap he was in eighth place and stayed around tenth position in the first few laps. Due to a crash he lost a lot of positions and finally finished the race in eighteenth. Monticelli was battling around fifteenth position in the beginning of the race. Unfortunately he collided with another rider and crashed. Because his bike had a lot of damage he was forced to retire from the race.

Jacobi finished in seventeenth position overall and Monticelli ended the day in twentieth. With still one round to go, Jacobi is in fifteenth place in the championship while Monticelli sits in 24th position. In two weeks from now the final round of the championship will be held in Turkey!

Henry Jacobi finishes inside of the top ten at the MXGP of Finland

After his set back at the previous MXGP round in Sweden, Henry Jacobi bounced back at the MXGP of Finland. On the sand track of Hyvinkaa he finished in twelfth and ninth position in the motos, which gave him tenth position overall. Despite a strong showing in the second moto, Ivo Monticelli failed to score points in Finland.

The track of Hyvinkaa has a sandy surface and became really rough during the weekend. Monticelli managed to put a fast lap together in time practice and set the seventh fastest time. Despite a few attempts, Jacobi ended the session in seventeenth. In the qualifying heat things went better for Jacobi as he crossed the finish line in thirteenth place while Monticelli finished the race in nineteenth.

In the opening moto it was Jacobi who was riding just outside of the top ten for the entire moto. An eleventh position was his highest position during the race. In the second part of the moto he lost a position and finally he finished the race in twelfth. Monticelli was riding not far behind Jacobi in the first half of the race and was riding inside of the top fifteen for a long time. Unfortunately he made a mistake in the second part of the race and finished outside of the points.

Both JM Racing Honda riders were taking a good start in the second moto and at the end of the first lap it was Jacobi who crossed the finish line in second with Monticelli in fourth not far behind. Jacobi held on to second position in the first few laps. In the middle of the race he was still in sixth position but in the second part of the race he lost a few more positions and finally crossed the finish line in ninth position. Monticelli gave everything he had and was riding inside of the top ten at the midway point of the race. Unfortunately this cost him to much energy and due to stomach problems he was forced to retire with only three laps to go. This was a shame because he was still riding in eleventh position at that moment.

With a 12-9 in the motos it was Jacobi who finished in tenth position overal and because Monticelli didn’t score points in both motos, he was classified in 24th position. After sixteen rounds Jacobi sits in fifteenth position in the championship standings and Monticelli is in 24th position. Next weekend the series continues in St. Jean D’Angelo, France.
